Around the time she released "I Found Someone" she had a nose job and fixed her teeth. It was an excellent result that took her from a pretty woman to a beautiful one. Then when the movie Beaches came out, it ushered in a big lip craze. Cher blew up her dainty, perfectly shaped lips into sausages. Strangely, a third lip developed underneath. She never looked quite right after that. Then another nose job which made her look pinched and wizened. Now instead of looking more beautiful and younger she just looks coarser. I have been told that I look like her but I don't consider that a compliment and I am much, much, much younger than she is. Although, I have also been told that I look like Liv Tyler, Hunter Tylo, Jennifer Aniston, and Milla Jovovich. I think the Liv Tyler and Milla Jovovich comparison is closer because of my eye colour and smaller face. So, people see different things I suppose. She still is damn sexy for her age, & i do think those who knock her & make fun are actually jealous. Alot of why Cher looks good is also her nationality too, Armenian/Cherokee blood, heck, they look good almost their whole lives. Look at pics of her mom, she's still a knockout too. Cher, to me, is one of the most beautiful women in the world, & for her age, that's pretty impressive. The only other celeb i can think of who is drop dead gorgeous is in her early 40's, & i don't think she's had any surgeries, is Lisa Edelstein from "House". But then, i like the dark haired, long nose look like Cher on any woman, as long as they are what I feel is good-looking. It's what inside that counts & Cher is a decent person. I like what CH wrote (may 26, 2008). It is true: Cher hasn't been a scum--no drugs, no horrible stories of idiotic things, like Madonna or Britney or whatever all these other (so-called idols) do. She was only in tabloids cuz of dating younger men. What was the crime in that? I guess if there's nothing else to write about, they have to pick at something. Now it's common: look at Demi Moore & Ashton Kutcher; almost the same age difference as it was with Cher & Robert, but yet no one blinked an eye at that. I feel bad for Cher & Rob that it didn't work out, i feel that all the pressure from the media prob played a part in breaking that up. He was young & it was prob a lot of pressure. I give him lots of credit for being pretty grown up & mature for handling things as well as he did. I think they were good together. I know this is off topic, but i'm just trying to tie things together in my mind here about how Cher has been perceived thru the years. She's always looked younger than her age & i don't believe she's had a tremendous amount of surgery. The rib thing is a joke! Such a person would have to be ultimately determined, and Cher is definitely that. However her determination and sheer stubbourn attitude also reflects in her appearance. Her first surgeries she considered as 'corrective procedures' for her teeth and nose. Although some speculation says she may have had her nose altered twice. She has also most certainly had a brow lift, upper & lower eyelid surgery and resurfacing procedures. However many celebrities have had similar ammounts of surgery, but don't look anywhere near as youthful as Cher. The reasons for this are quite remarkable - To settle the 'cheek implant' rumour, she does not appear to have had cheek implants as the area around her cheekbones has remained unchanged throughout her career. Although one can't help but notice her cheeks do look different. The reason for this is because she has had her lower face filled-out. The filler work she has had is quite extra-ordinary, not only has she had her nose to mouth lines filled, but she seems to have built upon this with extensive fillers between the nasolabial area and her upper cheeks, and on the jawline, lips and chin, thereby filling out the entire lower face extensively. To be able to visualize such subtle but major alterations to her face is proof of Cher's creative genius. As far as I know, no other celebrities are sporting such successful lower face alterations as Cher. The understanding and interpretation of lower face volume is VERY new in the world of cosmetology, yet Cher was sporting such alterations in the late 90's. A lot of Botox has also 'frozen' her face, which along with the fillers, tightening, and resurfacing procedures, gives her a very 'tight look'. However, many argue that despite all this, she still exhibits a certain 'something else', and also quite remarkably, this is down to skincare!!!. Cher has always taken pride in pampering herself, using lots of skincare products and makeup. Somehow she has managed to maintain high levels of moisture in her skin. Upon inspection of unrtouched photographs, one could easily argue that her skin perpetuates moisture & density to an almost unnatural degree which is not even seen in teenagers! I would assume that a religious skincare regimen of avoiding the sun, detergents, and too much exfoliation has allowed her to keep her skin in such fantastic condition. A rumour also circulated that Cher was buying biological injection-grade Hyaluronin protein (Hyaluronic acid), mixing it with water, antioxidants & preservatives and then bottling it to be directly applied to the surface of her skin. This sort of protein is deeply absorbed by the skin, providing skin with intensive repair, plumping and elevating moisture levels by over 400%! This form of skincare is barely legal to be sold in most countries, due to drug laws. So with surgery, resurfacing, Botox, fillers, wigs and an religious skincare and makeup routine, coupled with good eating and excercise, Cher has achieved what could be termed a work of art. However, if she went out of control she might end up looking like Pete Burns. Although a woman of such creative talent would probably not be so stupid. From Cher, we can learn that skincare has played at least a 50% role in her preservation, which is a good advert for preventative skincare.
