I think everyone needs to make up their mind. First, too thin. Now, too puffy. I'm guilty until I thought, maybe it is finally gaining weight after the previous "touch ups". Good grief, what if she finally gained some weight and this is the response? It's enough to make anyone want a drink.

Because of the body question (I, too, noticed there was some hiding going on) AND the face distortion, I thought maybe she was pregnant. I hope she hasn't gone and had a ton of surgery - even with all the collagen, I always thought she was beautiful. Shame on doctors who butcher people unnecessarily!

It's not just her face -- something is going on with her body too. She was on a tv movie a few months ago and it took me a while to realize it was her. Because of the face, of course, but also, she was always wearing some type of loose shirt over the top of her body. Kind of like older women do when they're trying to hide their fat or love handles. I noticed she did it on L&O too (I know there was a brief bikini scene but I wondered if that was a body double since most of the time she's covering her body.

Lara Flynn Boyle's usually beautiful face was nearly unrecognizable on L&O. I have a friend who had to take anti-rejection drugs when she had a kidney transplant, and she had a moonface that looked just like LFB's did on L&O. Thankfully, my friend's face returned to near normal after awhile. If she is sick, maybe her publicist wants to keep it a secret. Look what the media has done with the news of Patrick Swayze's illness. They're ready to bury him now.

This tragedy makes me wonder what Audrey Hepburn might look like if she'd had the same kind of work done. Real beauty doesn't need cosmetic surgery to age well. I'm sad that Lara doesn't appear to know that and hope that she has the courage to stop abusing her body.

When my husband and I were watching L&O we didn't realize it was her until halfway through. Last time I saw her was on Las Vegas and she looked good...at least you could tell it was her and her and her appearance did not detract from her performance. Not only was her face puffy and swollen it almost looked like someeone who is recovering from a stroke whereas one side of the face isn't functioning the same as the other. If there is a medical reason, other than self-mutilation by way of plastic surgery, it would behoove her publicists to get the word out. I am saddened that yet another beautiful face and possibly a career is ruined because of the pursuit of youth. When are we all going to accept that aging is NORMAL???!!!!

I wasn't advocating her treating herself bad and obsessing about her body. I was saying the opposite. Relax, treat yourself well by eating the right things, exercising (reasonably), and you will look beautiful. Stop thinking thin = beautiful, stop thinking big lips = beautiful. We all know thin people who look good and thin people who don't look good, and fat people who look good and fat people who don't.

I feel so bad about all of these comments, mostly cause I was thinking the same thing but when you read them it just seems so cruel. And I'm sorry, but I have to say that *HelenBack* was vicious. LFB obviously has a very harmful eating disorder and appherently an aging issue, but eating disorders are so dangerous, I would hate to know that the words we speak (or write) would cause someone to hurt themselves because of something they read about themselves. This is what's wrong with the young women in this country! They are starving themselves and getting plastic surgery so that the population accepts them as beautiful. Pity!

I was aghast to see Lara on L&O last night - and surprised that they even cast her in the part. She's had so much work done, she has no facial expressions left to use in her work. I'm sorry to see such a fine actress take such drastic measures - when she was beautiful to start with.

I completely agree with what everyone's said. She's always had a very pretty face. Even if she's been uncomfortably thin for the last few years, her face was always striking. I was watching L&O last night and had the same reaction - I couldn't believe it was her! I also had trouble focusing on the storyline because of her face - I actually felt bad for the actors who had to look at her! Considering all the tricks they use on television to make someone look good, can you imagine what she must look like in person?

Her face looks bloated, like she's had cheek injections, or like it would if she were disfigured in an accident and needed plastic surgery to put her face back together again. Can you imagine the reaction of the cast and crew when she showed up to film the episode? I'll bet a few did more than a double-take.

If she's sick and on medication, then its a shame, but if she did that to herself, then WHAT THE HECK WAS SHE THINKING? She looks hideous!

I couldn't believe it was her. The only thing recognizable was her voice. She was always so thin too, (well really way too thin), and that bikini shot was unbelievable. I kept saying to my husband, you don't understand, she looks *nothing* like she used to and I started Googling for old pictures of her. Way too much Botox - her face didn't move when she spoke.

I couldn't take my eyes off her lips and jowls. And her body ... Has she *never* worked out in her life? So much flab and cellulite and bloat. Stars have forgotten to aim for looking good when they try to erase what they think are their flaws. Beauty isn't the sum of the parts. She needs to eat right, exercise, and get the lip implants removed. And if she is sick and taking steroids, well, eat right, exercise, and get the implants removed.

I ran to my computer to try to figure out what happened to her and found you all writing the same thing.

I did not even have to add 'gone terribly wrong", just saw her on Law and Order and she looked deformed.
Sometimes people who have cancer treatments get this puffed up all over as well.

Yeah, I hardly recognized her tonight on Law And Order! Her face was so strange looking, it distracted from the story. I kept trying to figure out what happened- What did she do? It's like she went to have her lips plumped up some more, and they missed and got the sides of her face instead. She had mega JOWLS, like Marlon Brando! And her lips don't move properly when she speaks. This can't just be "normal aging", because she has admitted that she likes to do "maintenance" to stay young looking. Why did she mess with such a pretty face?

My husband and I were actually fighting about this. Lara is gorgeous I said...she would not have done this to herself! The only thing that gave her away was her voice! Her cheecks are puffy, her lips are not only drawn in the wrong direction but they are not even EVEN! It's like she got all pumped up before the show!
