Joan Rivers and plastic surgery

Some people have said that comedian Joan Rivers went too far with plastic surgery, but that´s not the opinion of everyone. She admitted to Mail Online to have had it done and that she is completely open for more in case that she need it. She is more than 70 years old, but it would be very hard to find any wrinkle on her face, her cheeks looks like a teenager ones and her eyes and mouth look a bit stretched out most probably due to more than one face lift.

Comparing earlier pictures with more recent ones, we can see that her eyes and mouth have been continuously stretching out with time, making her eyes to look smaller and making it harder to change her expression. Her nose is very peculiar, a classic rhinoplasty, probably popular when she got it done. Her cheeks could be treated with some kind of filler injections or implants, not to mention the (who knows how many) botox injections all over her face to reduce and practically eliminate any single wrinkle or expression lines.

She admitted to believe in plastic surgery and invite anyone who don't like something about themselves to go for it: "I have done what everyone does in California... Goldie Hawn has a totally different face from when she started... I believe in plastic surgery,.. Anyone out there who thinks they don't like their nose? Do something about it! You go through life once. Fix your teeth."

IT'S VERY SAD! JOAN RIVERS WAS A NICE LOOKING WOMAN WHEN SHE WAS YOUNGER. I BLAME THE DOCTOR WHO OPERATED ON HER. LOOK AT BARBARA WALTERS, SHE'S OLDER THAN JOAN, HAD PLASTIC SURGERY, AND LOOKS FANTASTIC & NATURAL

Friends should tell ppl the truth! Joan Rivers face is looking as horrible as Michael Jackson did. I dont understand why her daughter and friends arent truthful with her and tell her she has RUINED her face. Its nasty, its so stretched when she tries to smile, she looks like a monster.

Love Joan - she looks fabulous!..don't knock it people if you had her money at her age you would be doing the same thing!...she's in her mid 70's and if the spirit feels young do what you can to make the body feel the same way - is what I say!! Never say never and you will feel different when YOU get older as well....easy to judge when you are young!

I think she's beautiful. I've met her and she's different looking now then 10 years ago yes, but I would love to see her again.

I like Joan Rivers as a person-she is funny and has a good personality. She did, however, make a big mistake with her plastic surgery-it looks unnatural, fake, and took away from her natural good looks. Why won't she demand a refund for a botched job?? It in no way made her look younger, but only enhanced the aging process. We all know how old she is so why do it? To catch a new guy?? She looked hideous on Celebrity Apprentice, and reminds me of other celebrities botched jobs, including Kenny Rogers and that woman who looks more and more like a feline from New York. If you are paying top dollar, get the job right the first time! She also looks a hell of a lot older than her daughter, and sorry Joan, but you are a grandmother! smilies/shocked.gif

i saw her at a book-signing in 2009, rather close. i expected a freak that close, but i thought it was all money well-spent! it's just disturbing to see someone pushing 80 w.out a single wrinkle/.& when i see her "laugh," her mouth cannot go all the way. beautiful, just unnatural.

I just saw Joan Rivers on the Celebrity Apprentice and I think she looked like an absolute freak! I don't know how she was able to eat with a mouth so tight. And what is it aboiut her eyes which look like black circles set back in the sockets. Having said that I have no objection to plastic surgery to help turn back the ravages of time.

I dunno. Everytime I see Joan I think of a space alien. Don't know why, never saw a space alien before. Must go back to my childhood, maybe saw a space alien movie. She comes across as a bitch though, always thought so, even before plastic surgery (and I don't mean that in a good way).

She used to be cute and I would wonder why she was telling the jokes about herself. These days, I understand why she jokes about herself - she looks totally and sadly different. I wonder if people think they actually look younger when they get plastic surgery. They don't -- they just look odd.

I recently saw Joan on "The Doctors" and I was dumbfounded that the plastic surgeon on the show did not comment on how odd she looked. He actually suggested she have more!! I've always liked Joan Rivers but it hurts to look at her now.

She doesn't look like she did in her prime, but if she let herself go she wouldn't then, either. Better to have this than have your whole face slide down and end up with more face below the jawline than above it! She's not hurting a soul, and has a great attitude. By the time we're this "mature" it will probably be socially unacceptable to have absolutely no plastic surgery. We're so into appearance! How much $ and time spent on cosmetics, hair coloring, bleaching teeth, etc.? Let's not be hypocritical. Go on, Joan, it's your life! Do your thing.
